FINC 345 - Financial Statement Analysis Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact Prerequisite(s): FINC 235 This advanced course equips students with the tools and frameworks to evaluate financial statements for decision-making in investment, credit, and strategy. Students will learn to interpret financial disclosures, analyze firm performance, and assess valuation using reformulated statements and ratio analysis. Emphasis is placed on real-world applications, critical thinking, and how accounting data reflects economic activity and managerial incentives.
Topics include profitability and risk analysis, cash flow assessment, financial forecasting, accounting quality evaluation, and valuation techniques. Through lectures, case discussions, and applied exercises, students will develop both technical and conceptual understanding of financial reporting and decision analysis.
