Public Accounting, B.S.

The stand-alone B.S. in Public Accounting Program is not a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure-qualifying program in New York State. The Combined B.S./M.S. in Public Accounting is the only 150-credit-hour CPA licensure-qualifying program at Mercy University. (See Public Accounting, B.S. and M.S.   for details.)

Bachelor of Science

Public Accounting  
General Education Requirements* 42 credits
Major Concentration 69 credits (9 credits in Econ counts towards LAS)
Open Electives  9 credits
Total 120 credits

*Per New York State Education Department requirements, all students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program must successfully complete 60 credits of Liberal Arts and Sciences coursework. If needed, students should use Open Elective credits to fulfill these requirements, beyond their General Education courses, and look for courses with the “LA” attribute when registering.

 

**ECON 125 , ECON 220 , ECON 221 , ECON 230 , MATH 116  and MATH 120 /CISC 120  or CISC 131  are Prerequisites for the major and must be used to fulfill general education requirements.

***ECON 115  is mandatory for Freshman undergraduates in the Fall or Spring semester (for all Business Professionals). Not required of Business Honors Students.
