BHSC 350 - Black Women in Business Credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): ENGL 287 Modes of Analysis and an intermediate level social science seminar. This seminar will examine, chart and identify Black women’s experiences with work in the United States. Utilizing Black feminist thought, students will examine the historical, social, cultural and political factors as they impact the meanings and experiences of work for African American women in the American business environment. Students will identify leading Black females in American industry that exemplify achievement. Finally, students will create for themselves an understanding of those experiences as they help to design the contemporary work, career and life choices of African American professional females.
Only open to students in the B.A. Liberal Arts and Sciences program.
