ENGL 287 - Modes of Analysis Credit(s): 4 credits for students who began the program Prior to Spring 2019 / 3 credits for students who began the program in Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 Prerequisite(s): ENGL 286 In this advanced composition course, students will learn about literary analysis and interpretation. Students will read and critique various types of literature, such as short fiction, poetry, drama, and the novel. Throughout the course, students will explore literary elements, themes, and theory. To accomplish these objectives, students will write four major essays: Character Analysis, Comparison and Contrast, Literary Analysis, and Literary Research Paper.
This course is only open to students in the B.A. Liberal Arts and Sciences program.
