NURS 232 - Pathopharmacology II Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact (Traditional) Prerequisite(s): NURS 231 This course builds upon the content from Pathopharmacology I, examining pathophysiological mechanisms in selected human diseases, syndromes, and/or conditions and integrates related pharmacotherapeutics; establishing a biophysiological basis for understanding relevant clinical assessments, clinical manifestations, and disease trajectories. Manifestations of disease and alterations in select body systems are discussed, providing a foundation for establishing physiological priorities for nursing care. The presentation of each disease/disorder entity includes relevant risk factors, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and a brief review of treatment including pharmacologic therapies commonly used to manage the disease.
