HIST 399 - Internship in History Credit(s): 3-6 3-6 hours lecture, 3-6 hours contact Prerequisite(s): ENGL 112 , HIST 220 The History Program is committed to enhancing the professional development of its majors by providing opportunities to apply historical skills and thinking to non-classroom settings. This course offers qualified majors 3 credits for completing 135-hours of work on sites and projects relevant to the study of history (i.e. museums, archives, historical societies, public history initiatives). The History Program actively vets, supervises, and assesses internship opportunities to ensure that the work meaningfully supplements the classroom experience. HIST 399 is open to any Mercy History major in good academic standing who has completed Introduction to Research Methods (HIST 220) with a passing grade.
