ENGL 240 - Literature to Film Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact Prerequisite(s): ENGL 112 or ENGL 192 / HONR 192 . This course explores literature, film, and the relationship between these two media. Students will investigate and discuss writings (such as stories, plays, and more) and then experience films either based directly on or thematically related to those writings. Representative films will be screened in full during the semester. Through this exploration of literature and film, students will question and consider what power, purpose, and role literature and film have in our world and lives; and will reflect on how such explorations of literature and film relate to a university education overall.
