BIOL 460 -  Research Capstone in Bio

Credit(s): 3
6 hours lab, 6 hours contact
Prerequisite(s): Completion of a minimum of 15 credits in Biology or Chemistry courses numbered 230 and above. (excludes CHEM 260 /CHEM 260A  and CHEM 261 /CHEM 261A ).
A capstone research course for biology majors to be taken second semester senior year. Students will engage in hands-on authentic biological research in collaboration with a faculty mentor. Students will critically analyze the scientific literature, engage in the scientific method and present their research findings through oral presentations and a capstone paper, written in the format of a scientific manuscript. Biology Program Director approval is required to register for this course. Previous research experience is recommended.
