NURS 774 - Introduction to Primary Care Credit(s): 2 2 hours lecture, 2 hours contact Prerequisite(s): NURS 750 This course focuses on introduction to primary care across the lifespan using a bio-psycho-social framework to examine the historical, cultural, biological, physiological, psychological, and social aspects of caring for patients in the primary care setting across the lifespan. The course emphasis the theoretical foundations for primary care including developmental, psychological, and public health theories integral to prevention, diagnosing and managing health care of patients in the primary care setting across the lifespan. Topics pertaining to practice management, career development and legal and ethical issues will be explored and applied to clinical practice principles.
