ENGL 106 - Translat Experience into Essay Credit(s): 3-4 3-4 hours lecture, 3-4 hours contact Prerequisite(s): ENGL 100 In this introductory composition course, students utilize personal experience to begin to understand the writing process. Students will also identify strategies for critical reading through the evaluation of narrative, descriptive, expository, and literary texts. As the course progresses, students will move from experiential writing to academic writing that focuses on critical thinking and research skills. To accomplish these objectives, students will write four major essays: narrative, descriptive, critical response, and a literary research paper.
This course is only open to students in the B.A. Liberal Arts and Science Program.
