ENGL 100 - Writing as Communication Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact In this introductory composition course, students utilize personal experience in the development of a strong, confident, academic writing style. Students begin to understand the writing process through frequent practice in writing essays and brief response papers and by identifying various writing styles through close, critical reading of essays, fiction and poetry. By the end of the course students will be able to develop and order their thoughts in a logical sequence and will gain the necessary strategies to write academic essays of narration, description and exposition.
This course is only open to students in the B.A. Liberal Arts and Sciences program.
