IASP 221 - Linux Administration Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact Prerequisite(s): CISC 131 . This course focuses on the administration of LINUX in a secured networked environment. Students will be introduced to the installation and configuration of LINUX, along with the use of command-line LINUX commands and scripting languages. Special emphasis will be placed on the installation and configuration of popular LINUX services such as SSH, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, Samba, MySQL, IPTABLES firewall, etc. Hardening of the LINUX kernel will also be discussed to make students aware how a LINUX system could be made more secure.
