*ECON 125 , ECON 220 , ECON 221 , ECON 230 MATH 116 , and MATH 120 /CISC 120 or CISC 131 are Prerequisites for the major and must be used to fulfill general education requirements.

Students who choose the major in General Accounting with a specialization in Data Analytics must complete:

Business Core

General Accounting

The College’s 15-credit residency requirement in the major of General Accounting with a Specialization in Data Analytics must be met with 12 credits in with Accounting (ACCT) courses numbered 240 or higher, excluding ACCT 380 and ACCT 381 plus MGMT 460 - Strategic Management (cc) (senior-level capstone course).

ACCT 240 - Intermediate Accounting I
ACCT 241 - Intermediate Accounting II
MGMT 460 - Strategic Management (cc)
Any two additional ACCT courses (except ACCT 380 or 381, Internship in Accounting I or II)

Specialization

The major in General Accounting with a Specialization in Data Analytics meets the educational requirements for candidates applying to take the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Examination. The major in General Accounting with a Specialization in Data Analytics does not meet the educational requirements for candidates applying to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination.
