Clinically Rich Intensive Teacher Institute in Teaching English To Speakers of Other Languages (CR-ITI ESOL) Program

Mercy University’s Clinically Rich 15-credit Intensive Teacher Institute in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CR-ITI in ESOL) is designed for NYS DOE certified teachers who are interested in working with diverse learners and teaching English as a Second/New Language in PreK-12 grades. All initially, and professionally, certified NYCDOE teachers who are committed to teaching ESOL for two years may apply for the program. This clinically rich program offers teachers a pathway to ESOL certification, with the goal of addressing the shortage of NYC teachers in English as a Second Language/English as a New Language.

Candidates will complete five 3-credit courses as follows:

EDUC 707 - Mentoring Seminar TESOL Credit(s): 3
Credits can be transferred to the M.S. in TESOL Program at Mercy University if candidates wish to pursue the degree program.
