Dual Degree Education Programs 

The Bachelor of Science/Master of Science Dual Degree Program is an academic program that allows students interested in the teaching profession as a career choice to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in an accelerated format. Through this special program, qualified students who major in English, history, mathematics, or Spanish can receive teacher certification in Middle Childhood or Adolescence Education as well as Early Childhood or Childhood Education. A key feature of this program allows students to take up to 15 graduate education credits during their upper junior and senior years, and these can be used toward satisfying their bachelor’s as well as their master’s degree requirements. 

Programs Include:

  • BA in English with MS in Adolescent Education
  • BA in History with MS in Adolescent Education
  • BS in Mathematics with MS in Adolescent Education
  • BA in Spanish with MS in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

The Philosophy Minor

15 credits required. 

Students who choose the minor in the Philosophy concentration must complete 5 courses in Philosophy with at least 3 courses in the 200-level or higher. 

Courses can include:  PHIL 205 PHIL 213 PHIL 294 PHIL 299 PHIL 303 PHIL 317  or PHIL 397 .         

Restrictions:

  • Course credits used to fulfill the Ethical Perspectives General Education Requirement cannot be used towards the minor. 
  • Courses designated as being in the School of New Resources cannot be used toward the minor.
