MATH 127 - Statistics Credit(s): 4 credits for students who began the program Prior to Spring 2019 / 3 credits for students who began the program in Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 This course is designed to serve as a general introduction to mathematical statistics for students in all academic areas. The course presents the basic statistical ideas, techniques, and elementary research design applicable to such disciplines as social science and education. Topics to be studied include introduction to statistics, frequency distribution, measures of central tendency and variability, elementary probability, normal distribution, confidence interval, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression.
This course is only open to students in the B.A. Liberal Arts and Sciences program.
