MCNR 370 - Research Design and Statistics Credit(s): 3 An introduction to research design, experimental method and thesis development, including: the logic and nature of research design; the basic concepts in the experimental process, such as hypotheses, sampling, control and statistical analyses. Literature review and the statistical method are applied to independent projects, as are data collection, data description and data analysis (with statistical software, e.g., SPSS for Windows), presentation skills, use of online professional databases, and use of the Internet. Students are sensitized to the rights of participants in research. Offered in the Fall semester only. Permission of McNair Scholars Program Director Required.
