CHEM 110 - Introduction to Chemistry Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture This course is an introduction to the principles of chemistry and chemical reactivity for non-majors and allied health students. It is a study of the basic scientific methodology as exemplified by fundamental physical and chemical concepts and illustrated through theory and practical applications. Topics include: atomic and molecular structures, nuclear chemistry, bonding, phases of matter, chemical reactions, acid-base chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry. Relevance of chemistry to biology, technology, the environment and society will be presented. 3 hr. lect.
