CNSL 653 -  Family Systems Assessment

This course introduces family assessment through various methods, including family structure and organization, family process and communication, family genograms, and family life-cycle development across diverse cultural and social class variations. Students will learn methods to differentiate well-functioning families from those will learn to distinguish well-functioning families from those experiencing difficulties and explore factors that contribute to family resilience and well-being. Additionally, students will examine diagnosis and assessment-based treatment planning within the context of their specific mental health profession, with a focus on addressing family dynamics and needs in clinical practice.
