MEDA 144 - Understanding Movies Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact A basic overview of the historical development of film with an emphasis upon the aesthetic elements of cinema, its particular terminology and interrelationships with other arts. Students will discover how to read films through selected readings, screenings and written reports.
As of Spring 2021, MEDA 144 can be taken to fulfill the General Education Art Requirement, once of 18 Additional Liberal Arts requirements, and Media Studies major electives.
