MUSI 201 - Theory & Musicianship III Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact Prerequisite(s): MUSI 104 . A continuation of MUSI 104 with an introduction to more advanced compositional techniques. Concepts include: reharmonization; harmonic sequence and modulation; modes; pentatonic scales; suspended chords; extended and altered chords; passing diminished chords. Students apply these concepts through piano exercises, short compositions and analysis.
