CNSL 601 - Crisis Counseling and Mental Health Credit(s): 3 3 semester hours This course is designed to prepare students to work with clients/students in crisis situations — personal or community. The emphasis in the course is on practical applications of theory. The readings, lectures and role-play exercises provide a foundation on which professionals dealing with individuals and communities in crisis can build their own response protocols. The course will also help experienced individuals to reinforce, strengthen and augment their current skills.
