BIOL 461 - Literature Capstone in Biology Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact Prerequisite(s): Completion of a minimum of 15 credits in Biology courses numbered 230 and above also required. Biology Program Director approval required to register for this course. A capstone literature course for biology majors to be taken second semester senior year. Students will analyze a topic in biology through critical examination of the scientific literature while drawing from knowledge gained in prior science courses. Students will examine core and emerging concepts in biology and propose problem-solving strategies through class discussions, presentations, and a comprehensive capstone paper. In addition to class meetings, students will be required to meet one-on-one meetings with their instructor throughout the semester.
