PSYN 444 - Psychology of Relationships

Prerequisite(s): PSYN 106 Introduction to Psychology
This seminar focuses on the dynamics of personal and interpersonal relationships, especially as applied to the family, work and school settings. Through the theoretical framework of humanistic psychology, students will explore the process by which human beings form relationships. Topics will include, single parenting, adoption, divorce, reconstituted families, and the implications of ethnic, cultural, sexual, and class differences. Psychologists such as Karen Horney, Carl Rogers, and Harry S. Sullivan will be covered. A Life Arts Project is required. Only open to students in the B.A. Liberal Arts and Sciences program.
