SOCL 250 - Geography and Culture

Prerequisite(s): An Introductory Social Science course.
This seminar will introduce students to the discipline of geography and focus on the relationship between geography and culture. A central question to be addressed in this seminar is, in what ways do geographical factors determine cultural structures and in return, how does culture impact geography? While researching this question, students will explore such issues as the use of natural resources, ecosystems, economics, the clash of cultures, industrialization, and the development of cities.
