CMDS 355 - Intro to Linguistics Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact This course will familiarize students with the way in which linguistics relates to speech-language pathology. Course content is designed to introduce students to the five levels of natural languages: phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Additional topics (second language acquisition, bilingualism, sociolinguistics, bidialectalism, American Sign Language linguistics, neurolinguistics and psycholinguistics) will be incorporated into the course. Offered spring semester only.
