CNSL 660 - Group Counseling Theories & Practice (cc) Credit(s): 3 3 semester hours Prerequisite(s): CNSL 650 Counseling and Application I and CNSL 655 Counseling and Application II . An overview of theories, research, techniques, and processes in the dynamics of group counseling, with particular emphasis on the role of the leader, the participation of group members, the cohesiveness of the group, and the measurement of the growth of each group member. The opportunities of using group techniques for school counseling, teaching, community work, tutorial programs, and vocational and educational counseling are considered. The course itself will serve as a practical model for group counseling, with students participating as group members and group leaders under the supervision of the faculty member.
