ENGL 514 - Major Authors Credit(s): 3 This course involves close reading of texts by and about a writer who has had a significant impact on literature. The author studied will vary from semester to semester depending on faculty specialty. This course will seek to provide a sense of the central themes, stylistic techniques, and temperament and sensibility that distinguish the author, as well as of the evolution of his or her art from a biographical perspective. Authors studied will vary and will be selected by consultation between individual instructors and the program director.
