PHTR 619 - Medical Differential Diagnosis Credit(s): 2 2 semester hours The physical therapist’s role as an independent practitioner working in a collaborative medical model requires the ability to identify signs and symptoms of systemic disease that can mimic neuromusculoskeletal dysfunctions. The content of this course includes a discussion of physical therapy diagnosis, interviewing techniques, and a review of systemic origins of neuromusculoskeletal pain. This course enables the student to recognize clinical manifestations that warrant a referral to another member of the health care team. Offered fall trimester only.
