OCTR 525 - Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods for Occupational Therapy Credit(s): 3 3 semester hours This course will address the important concepts of qualitative and quantitative research including the theoretical assumptions underlying the research process and procedures, and the value of research in occupational therapy. Students will learn how to critically analyze research in occupational therapy; interpret studies related to occupational therapy; and understand how research results inform occupational therapy practice. The major components of a research protocol (literature review, research design, data collection, statistical analysis, and the research report) will be reviewed and students will design a research proposal, collect data, analyze data using SPSS, and report results. Offered summer trimester only.
