EDSA 520 - Curriculum and Teaching: Theories into Practice Credit(s): 3 3 semester hours This course stresses developmental cognitive and social/emotional processes and their impact on teaching and learning, the principles of curriculum development, the role of school personnel, curriculum goals and objectives, the characteristics of excellent teachers, the role of technology in the post-Covid 19 era, effective instructional leadership, what students must learn, differentiated instruction, multicultural education, and data driven decision making. The learning activities for this course are designed to prepare each student with essential knowledge and competencies for effective instructional leadership and curriculum development and the supervision of teachers in implementing effective pedagogical strategies in this millennium. Eighteen hours of field experience required. Eighteen (18) hours of fieldwork.
