HSTE 535 - American Government Credit(s): 3 3 semester hours This course is designed to familiarize students with the origins, development, structure, and functions of the American national government. Among the topics to be covered are the constitutional framework; federalism; civil rights and liberties; political parties, campaigns and elections; the three branches of government, including the bureaucracy; and domestic and foreign policy.
