EDUC 506 - Educational Evaluation and Assessment from Early Childhood through Adolescence Credit(s): 3 3 semester hours Study of testing concepts and the application of assessment to the classroom setting. The focus is on relating assessment principles to standards-based instruction, identifying appropriate performance standards, effectively communicating these standards, and providing appropriate feedback to students. Included are planning of summative assessments, the construction and use of multiple choice, true-false, and essay type items, performance assessments and portfolios, student observation techniques and ratings scales, and the use and interpretation of standardized test data. Ten hours of fieldwork required.
