PHIL 115 - Philosophy of Ethics Credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): PHIL 102 Introduction to Philosophy This course is an introduction to the philosophical study of morality, including theories of right and wrong behavior, theories of value (goodness and badness), and theories of virtue and vice. This course will provide familiarity with the primary questions addressed within moral philosophy and the most influential answers given by well-known philosophers. In addition, through addressing particular ethical issues, this course is designed to help students develop their abilities to read, explicate, analyze, and evaluate philosophical literature, write and express themselves well about their own ethical positions, and think critically and analytically about ethical issues.
Only open to students in the B.A. Liberal Arts and Sciences program.
