HRMG 500 - Intro to Human Resource Mgmt. Credit(s): 3 3 hours lecture, 3 hours contact The course is designed to be an introduction to, and overview of, the human resource management function in modern organizations. It focuses on the strategic role of human resource management in the accomplishment of organizational objectives and on specific personnel functions, policies, and practices. Topics will include: the external environmental factors affecting human resource management, typical organizational patterns of the human resource department, the role of the government in human resource management, human resource planning, employee development, and compensation administration.
